Working Statement: RobO. Waters, 06/09/04 (revised)

I employ elements of old master painting and composition, tattoo art, collage, installation and Japanese woodblock print styles in my work. Such elements are used to create contrasts within the piece itself as well as between pieces. These contrasts may be opposing color, style and/or between images and text. Many of the juxtapositions are also designed to be complementary as well.

Artists of great influence for me are Ed Hardy and Manuel Ocampo as well as masters like Titian, Goya, Picasso and Odd Nerdrum.
